What is it? |
One of the goals of the IPCC is to support the work of currently serving volunteers around the world. Beyond moral support, the most effective way of achieving this goal is through monetary donations to Peace Corps Partnership Program (PCPP) grants.
The Peace Corps Partnership Program is a convenient and meaningful way for RPCVs to maintain their connection to current volunteers and projects around the world. PCPP grants also allow RPCVs the chance to stay involved with the three goals of Peace Corps. Oftentimes returned volunteers are only able to participate in Goal 3 (to help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans) but giving programs like this one allow them to remain involved with Goal 1 (to help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women) as well.

Where does the funding come from?
Funding for this program comes from IPCC membership dues, fundraising, and donations. The IPCC strives to be a community where people can come together to support a cause, regardless of their financial situation. Though projects may be promoted by the IPCC, members (and non-members) are never asked directly to support a project, they are simply made aware of the good work being done by PCVs around the world.
How does it work?
- Interested currently serving Peace Corps Volunteers are invited to submit their project for funding consideration. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis year-round.
Requirements:
- Projects must be listed on the Peace Corps website via the PCPP program.
- PCVs should have some kind of Indiana connection (born/raised/college in Indiana/country of service of a Hoosier PCV/etc.) - The project is discussed internally and the board (or a project selection committee) will decide if it should be funded
- If the project is chosen to be funded, a donation will be made to the project via the PCPP website and the project will be publicized to the IPCC members via the website and Facebook group.
